BMW Z3Window.com Review: “I can see through my window again!” November 4, 2019 – Posted in: Reviews
Do you have an old, ripped or leaking Z3 rear window? Be like Bill, buy this replacement BMW Z3 window and be happy! Yes, be like Bill!
Bill from California purchased our clear tint BMW Z3 window to replace the old window he couldn’t see out of. He was happy to see it came with the tools to install the window and quickly saw that this was a very high-quality product, but don’t take it from us, listen to Bill here:

Shipping was prompt and window is first rate quality. It is not easy to install a new window however; once old window is out you have to have someone outside (maybe 2 people) to hold the new window in approximate place while you kneel on the two seats and try to start the zipper on the new window. A couple of times the zipper came loose after zipping about 1/3 of the way and then you have to work it back over the open zipper to start again. After a couple of times i sewed the start end of the zipper together as soon as i got started and that seemed to do the trick. If you loosen the top and take the pressure off a bit the window seems to zip in better around the corners. Sewed the tail end of the zipper as well and it held nicely. One thing that worried me at first was that there were 2 puckers in the rubber trim around the window that would not hold the fabric lip that goes into the slot in the rubber. I asked z3windows.com.about it and Tim said they would go away in time. I was skeptical at first but after about 3 weeks the puckers went away completely like he said. For $200 or so this is a great solution to a bad window. It took a couple of hours to install it with the false starts but would be easier a second time. The local BMW bandit (not the dealer) wanted $1100 to do the job. The dealer said they only replace the entire top, not the rear window!

That’s awesome! I’m glad you saved a LOT of $ and the new window looks good! Good idea on stitching the start/end points. It’s a little extra work but holds up really good.

The shipping was very prompt and the packaging was very protective. It took about 40 minutes to do the install and that was with putting the zip in twice, I got a seperation and found that it was easier to go forward than backwards. Very nice that they provide a good video and PDF to help make the task easier. The new window is good quality and very solid and the zip was nice heavy duty stuff. I had a little trouble with taping the corners and possibly would have used a bit more tape on the corners if I did it again. Very happy with the whole experience from the ordering to the installation instructions to the quality of the product itself. I recommend this and wish that I had tried these guys first rather than messing with the junky zipper that I bought on ebay.
